We deliver a creative curriculum that is strongly focused on developing excellent skills in literacy and numeracy. We aim for the children to take on responsibility and have ownership of their learning, think for themselves and use the cooperative values and principles effectively. This is based on their prior learning experiences.
We aim to generate enthusiasm for learning so that each child’s inquisitive nature leads them to find out more and more. There is no limit on learning.
We have designed the curriculum so that children are challenged appropriately and so that children;
- ask questions;
- genuinely understand that it is “good to go wrong” sometimes;
- become confident contributers to discussions;
- understand the nexts steps to learning;
- learn from real life situations;
- have a good sense of right and wrong, and can settle any disputes that arise peacefully;
- celebrate one another’s cultural diversity and learn about different faiths and traditions.
“Really enjoyed the maths games that the children had designed. They were really proud to share their knowledge and understanding.”
“Really good. Nice to see the teamwork and creative work.”
“Very good to see my daughter doing some interesting subjects – maths and learning about charity and understanding that there are other children worse off in the world.”
“Everything and everybody is special at Mount Street Primary School.”
“We enjoy learning with our friends.”
“I like learning in different ways and learning new things.”
