Outdoor Learning

We are fortunate to have large grounds. Within these we have established a forest school, an allotment and a pond area as well as a 'recycled area' developed by the school council which is used as an outdoor teaching space, a performance space and a quiet playground area.

More to care for...

Children at Mount Street Primary School care for two guinea pigs in our Forest school. The two fluffy guineas were adopted from the lovely Molly at Norman Gorman’s guinea pig sanctuary in Tideford where they had been looked after for the first 6 weeks of their life.

Since arriving at Mount Street, these friendly animals have been well loved and looked after. Teachers and children have commented on the calming effect that having animals in school has had and how older children model to the younger ones how to care for them.
