Lord Mayor's Visit
Thu 14 Mar 2024Today, Mount Street received a visit from the Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Councillor Mark Shayer. In our 'Dare to Dream' assembly, he explained to the children all that his job entails but, perhaps more importantly, what he had done since leaving school.
He explained that he wasn't very good at school to start with and had to study really hard to pass his exams. He then went on to enjoy a career as an engineer in the Royal Navy before working for Babcock. He told the children of the incredible places in the world that he has visited - including the North Pole - which really amazed them.
He ended his assembly with a question and answer session during which our children asked some thoughtful and challenging questions. The Lord Mayor told the children that they were the best behaved school that he has visited! Well done Mount Street!

Didn't They Do Well!!
Thu 29 Feb 2024Last night, a team of Key Stage 2 girls took part in a PSSP Football Tournament at Lipson Academy. They showed determination, drive and spirit and, even though they had never played competitively as a team, they showed fabulous team spirit and sportsmanship.
We are incredibly proud of their efforts as they came third! Well done girls - Lionesses beware!
