PE and Sport Premium
Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
Primary Sports Funding
The Government has implemented PE Sports funding as part of a 3 year project. The aims of the project are:

To help more people have a sporting habit for life

Create more opportunities for young people to play sport

Nurture and develop talent

Provide the right facilities in the right places
At Mount Street we have used our funding to support the above aims as well as raising standards in PE by:

Funding specialist PE professionals to deliver PE across KS1 and KS2 during PPA.

Training for teachers to develop their own knowledge and skills in PE which enhances the children’s opportunities.

Children have 2+ hours of PE a week

Specialist PE professional to deliver specific skills at sports clubs for KS1 and KS2.

Being a member of Plymouth Sports Schools Partnership; engaging in a variety of sporting competitions and opportunities.
The impact of the above is that children are developing their knowledge and specific skills in the games as well as understanding and beginning to use sophisticated tactics based on power and pace. Children continue to develop their cooperative skills such as listening, being part of a team and encouraging each other.
