Recommended Reads

Here at Mount Street primary, we all love reading and would like to share some of our favourite books with you.  Each week, different children from across our school will be sharing some of their favourite books.

We would also like to develop a parent library, which will be in the school entrance.  If you have any books that you would like to donate, please pass into the office.  

This week's recommendations come from Year 5.

Miss Clement, who's favourite author is Eloise Williams, recommends our class book – Gaslight .  If you love adventure and mystery – this is the book for you.  Set in the 1890’s, you meet a girl named Nansi.  Unable to remember her past and  with no family, she works for a vile man called Sid while trying to save money in order to hire a detective to find her lost mother.  But life in Victorian times is hard, and nothing is easy. Soon, she is on the run for her life and she will have to risk everything if she's going to find the truth!
