PSHE
We use Jigsaw to support a whole school approach to PSHE through which our children grow and develop as individuals and as members of families and social and economic communities.
Through PSHE education and Citizenship we aim to equip children and young people with knowledge, understanding, attitudes and practical skills to live healthy, safe, productive, fulfilled, capable and responsible lives.
PSHE education enables children to reflect on and clarify their own values, attitudes and feelings and explore the complex and sometimes conflicting range of values and attitudes they encounter now and in the future. This area of the curriculum makes a significant contribution towards supporting schools in meeting statutory responsibilities to promote physical and mental well-being, achieve the curriculum aims and promote community cohesion.
At Mount Street Primary School, we then develop the children's conceptual knowledge and understanding through 'Big Ideas' which develop both in depth and knowledge as the children progress through the school.
