  • Year 5 - Dartmoor Rainforest Visit

Thu 20 Jun 2024 Mrs Hibbert

What an amazing day Year 5 had  at Dartmoor Rainforest. The children learnt so much about the area and participated in fun games throughout the day including: find your tree (taken to a tree blindfolded first then find the right one afterwards); becoming birds to protect their nests and being quiet to hear the different sounds (this was extremely hard for some of us ~ me included!). Well done Year 5 as you were amazing and did us proud!

  • Young Readers Programme.

    Thu 20 Jun 2024

years 1,2 and 3 have been participating in the Young Reader's Programme this year.  As well as Bedtime stories, The Lord Mayor's visit and World Book day where the children were all involved in reading, they were invited to take part in a book event in Drake Circus.  The children were all so excited - they played Nerf gun target practice, mini golf, had a treasure hunt, created a front cover for an imaginary book and write a short blurb to entice a reader. Finally they spent time with one of the funniest story tellers and got to choose their very own second book. They are still buzzing and carrying their books around with them. They are now talking of sharing the books with each other and lending them!

Thanks to the Rotary Club Saltash for an amazing day out yesterday for 21 lucky children from across Key Stage 2. We went to Trethorne Leisure Park, near Launceston, in Cornwall. We enjoyed all of the indoor and outdoor activities that were available to us - a fabulous day out. Thank you Rotary Club district 1175!

  • Year 5 Visit Smeaton's Tower

Sun 09 Jun 2024 Mrs Clement Stallard

Year 5 had an amazing opportunity on Thursday as part of Mission Mammoth, orgnaised by The Box. They walked to Smeaton's Tower to meet a real life civil engineer, who spoke to them about her role. They then designed a 'new' lighthouse for Plymouth. They also learnt about John Smeaton and the importance of the lighthouse and had the chance to walk to the top.

  • Teddy Bear Hospital

Wed 05 Jun 2024 Miss Smith

Today, Year 1 went to Plymouth University to be Junior Teddy Medics! We learnt about the heart, the skeleton, germs and what is in a doctor's bag. We took turns completing each activity. Then we helped our poorly teddies by bandaging them up. When we got back to school, we got our own teddy keyring to remind us of our amazing day!
