  • Summer Fair 2022

    Sat 18 Jun 2022

What a glorious afternoon!  The sun was shining brightly for this year’s Summer Fair and everyone turned out to help and support this event organised by FOMSS.  It was wonderful to see all our families taking part with stalls, bouncy castles, and a BBQ  being enjoyed by all. A huge thank you to FOMSS and all staff who made this event possible.

If anyone is interested in joining FOMSS why not take a look here or contact the school office for more information.

Come in and take a look to see what sports and events you can see taking place on the television this year in Birmingham! We are feeling very excited about the Games here at Mount Street, with lots of us taking part in the same sports that some of the athletes will be participating in, such as Curling and Boccia!

  • Camp Kernow 2022

    Thu 02 Jun 2022

Children in years 3 and 4 have been enjoying life living off grid during their residential at Camp Kernow. For many, staying away from home was a first time experience and all had an amazing time, staying in bell tents, yurts and even an upside down boat with their friends.

The children enjoyed trying out a range of new experiences, including archery, climbing, lighting fires and natural dyeing.  They also experienced harvesting their own salad and helping to prepare meals in the camp kitchen.

As Camp Kernow promotes a sustainable way of living, the children were taught about recycling, minimising food waste and the importance of not wasting energy.  They also learnt about how some of the energy we uses increases the carbon in the atmosphere which in turn has a negative impact on our Earth.  As well as learning about how the Camp produces it’s own solar energy, they also worked in groups to make their own wind turbines.

A great time was had by all, and we would like to thank the staff at Camp Kernow, who made this an amazing and educational experience.
