Football Fever!
Thu 28 Apr 2022What a fantastic first game on the Mount Street football pitch this afternoon. We were thrilled to welcome Leigham Primary School to a year 5 & 6 friendly match. Both teams played exceptionally well, and the sportsmanship of all players is to be commended. There was a clear team spirit, with plenty of communication, passing of the ball and peer encouragement. We look forward to welcoming Leigham back for another game, and if any other local schools would like a friendly match - do get in touch!

Author Visit
Tue 26 Apr 2022It has been a while since we have been able to invite visitors into school, but we are delighted that we have been able to book a visit with award winning author- Stewart Foster. Our year 5 children have been enjoying reading his books and will be thrilled to meet him in person. However, the best news is that Stewart will be meeting the whole school and working with all KS1 and KS2 children in groups, to inspire them as writers.
Stewart will be in school for the day on Friday 20th May. There will also be an opportunity for the children to buy a copy of one of his books and have it signed in person. Further information to follow.

Fire, Fire!!!!
Thu 07 Apr 2022Year 2 had a brilliant fire afternoon. They have been learning about the Great Fire of London so decided to have a fire of their own. They spent the afternoon outside and lit a fire in ‘Scorch’ the pizza oven. They chilled out by the fire, listening to the sounds it made and describing what they could see, smell and feel. It was very hot! Then they toasted marshmallows and made ‘Smores’ with chocolate biscuits, enjoying the melting chocolate and yummy, sticky marshmallows.
A fabulous spring afternoon had by all. They are now looking forward to writing a diary all about their fiery afternoon!

Congratulations Swimmers
Fri 18 Mar 2022A massive well done to years 4 and 5 who have been learning to swim at Plymouth Life Centre for the last 3 weeks. They have all made tremendous progress, developing water confidence, swimming techniques and water safety knowledge. Some children have even been learning to dive!
We would like to say a huge thank you to the amazing teachers at the Life Centre who have truly given our children a love of water and a life-long skill.
Parents – Do keep an eye out for some free family swimming sessions coming your way!
